Happy New Year , Mind the Distance

 Although the Hebrew New Year is obviously Rosh Hashanah (usually some time in September), you are able to state "shana tova" at both New Years. For the Spanish speaking friends you should use "Feliz Ano ~Nuevo" with good gusto. What about once you learn an individual who speaks Irish? You can use "Bliain nua fe mhaise dhuit" but do not ask me how exactly to pronounce it. The Celtic languages generally look to possess a lot of words to me.

Then you can find, needless to say, the German, they who've produced people champagne, brie, and French fries. For them I'd wish a delicious "bonne annee" as I strain my glass and nibble on another escargot (with Brigitte Bardot?)

For the troops offshore, valiantly defending our way of life, when you have the occasion you can wish one of the natives a gleeful "Sanah Jadidah" with a nod toward Mecca. And, to my wife's family on Sao Michael on the Azores (some of the greatest food ever, my wife's carne guisada could make a grown person cry) I would present my heartfelt "Feliz Ano Novo.

Shortly before, the clock struck midnight and it is now 2010 where I live. Some areas have nearly reached midnight yet, but can soon. I want to wish everyone else a pleased New Year. If 2009 was not a good year for you, I hope this 1 is a lot better. If 2009 was an excellent year, I hope you extended pleasure for 2010.

Sometime this season I will turn 42 decades old. Therefore, I wanted to fairly share several thoughts about life for anyone who has the chance to study this. Life is short! It goes by very quickly. I however see the activities of 20 years ago as though they certainly were yesterday and I need certainly to remind myself that it to be real two decades ago. There are numerous paths that folks walk in life. Most of us live various lives and a number of our lives are very, actually different compared to lives of others.

The planet is filled with gaps. Sexuality gaps. Technology gaps. Credibility gaps. Some shouldn't be missed, like Ireland's wonderful Space of Dunloe. And some, like the one in the London pipe, must be avoided. ("Brain the Difference" - lest you discover yourself floundering between train and system!)

Actually hear the definition of hole year? It always describes a rest taken by high school or school grads that defers enrollment within the next stage of life. Ultimately, one uses a distance year to complete anything completely from the package: perform, volunteer, intern, apprentice, self-study, travel... or any real-world offering. The implicit aim is to figure out that which you really would like or do not want to do along with your Bengali New Year .

In January a few years ago, our girl headed down for a vacation experience in SE Asia while our daughter and his lover headed to Malaysia to instruct British there. Both had hazy programs for after. But holes have a habit of transforming those who venture in to them and that's the whole point. I used their departure to question myself, "Where may I discover some gaps to provide me more of what I need this year?" I understood I needed to get back to publishing fiction.
